Introduction to Indira Gandhi Smartphone Yojana

Indira Gandhi Free Smartphone Scheme was launched in the year 2023 under the leadership of Congress in Rajasthan. Under this, smartphones were distributed to make women digitally literate in Rajasthan and to eliminate the digital divide.

Under this scheme, about 24 lakh mobile phones were distributed before the assembly elections. After the elections, this scheme is being restarted after the BJP government was formed in Rajasthan.

Eligibility for Indira Gandhi Smartphone Yojana

The following women have been selected to receive benefits under the Indira Gandhi Smartphone Scheme—

• The beneficiary woman should be a native of Rajasthan.
• Widows or women receiving single pension will be eligible to get benefits under this scheme.
• Girls studying in government schools from class 9th to class 12th will also be eligible to get benefits under this scheme.
• Girl students pursuing diploma from college or ITI or Polytechnic are eligible to get benefits under this scheme.
• The woman head of the family who gets employment for 100 days under the NREGA scheme will be eligible to get benefits under this scheme.
• The female head of the family who has completed 50 days of employment under the Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme is eligible to get benefits under this scheme.

Which mobile will women get under Rajasthan’s free mobile scheme?

It depends on which mobile the woman wants to buy, under this scheme women are given Rs 6,800 in place of the mobile.

The women receive this money in their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Out of this amount, Rs 6,125 were for mobile phones and Rs 675 for recharge.

Women can buy the mobile of their choice with this money. If they want, they can also buy a better and more expensive mobile by adding some more money to it.

• To get the mobile, first of all the woman will have to go to the camp being organized by the Rajasthan government in her area,
• After going to the camp, the woman’s E-KYC will be done,
• After E-KYC, e-wallet app will be downloaded and installed in the mobile,
• After this, Rs 6,800 will be transferred to the woman’s e-wallet app through direct benefit transfer,
• After receiving the money, the woman will be able to choose any mobile, SIM and data plan of her choice.

Step 1: To check your name in the list, you will first have to visit the official website of the Rajasthan government. To visit the official website, click- Rajasthan Free Mobile Yojana Official Website

Step 2: After going to the home page of the site, you will have to click on the option of ‘Eligibility for Indira Scheme’.

Step 3: After selecting this option, a new window will open in front of you in which you will be asked for Jan Aadhar number, you have to fill your Jan Aadhar number in it.

Step 4: After filling the Jan Aadhar number, you will have to enter a column on the side of the column where you have to mention whether you are a widow, single woman, related to NREGA or pursuing a diploma or a student studying in a government school.

Step 5: After filling all this information, you have to click on the submit button, after which in a few seconds it will be written on the screen whether your name is in the beneficiary list under this scheme or not.
