Introduction to Gruha Jyothi Scheme

Griha Jyoti Yojana is a scheme launched by the Government of Karnataka under which 200 units of electricity are provided free of cost to all the residential households in Karnataka. All those people who reside in Karnataka and have a domestic connection in Karnataka can apply to avail the benefits under this scheme.

Gruha Jyothi Scheme Eligibility

• To avail the benefits of this scheme, it is necessary to be a resident of Karnataka.
• Only those who have domestic or residential connection are eligible to get benefits under the scheme.
• Under this scheme, a house owner will be able to avail the benefit under this scheme only on one domestic or residential connection meter.
• Aadhar card must be linked to the electricity bill account or the consumer’s ID card.
• If a resident is already receiving benefits under this scheme on one meter, then he cannot apply for another meter under this scheme.

To avail the benefits under Griha Jyoti Yojana, the applicant must have the following documents-

• Aadhar card
• Income Certificate
• If you are a tenant, tenancy document
• Application form filled by you
• Passport size photo
• Electricity Bill
• Proof of permanent address

Gruha Jyothi Apply Online

To avail the benefits under Griha Jyoti Yojana, applicants can apply online or offline in the following manner-

Step 1: First of all visit the official portal of Karnataka Seva Sindhu. Click to go— Gruha Jyothi Scheme Registration Link

Step 2: Click on the Gruha Jyothi scheme icon.

Step 3: Select your language and fill in other required information.

Step 4: Select ESCOM name.

Step 5: Enter the Account ID and Connection ID from your electricity bill.

Step 6: Fill in the account holder’s address and home address.

Step 7: After this choose your business,

Step 8: Enter your Aadhaar number, name and mobile number.

Step 9: After filling the captcha code, tick on the declaration and submit.

Step 10: After this process you will receive an information on your email and SMS which you will use in future to get free 200 units of electricity.

Gruha Jyothi Scheme offline application method

• Consumers who want to avail the benefits of Karnataka State Government Graha Jyoti Scheme through offline application can apply through the helpline available at Municipality, Grama Forest, or Karnataka Forest as well as Bengaluru Forest centers.
• You will have to go to any one of the following centers and fill the offline application form and then submit it in the said office
