Expanding the ‘Ama Odisha, Navin Odisha’ scheme being run by the Odisha State Government, the Odisha State Government has announced the launch of ‘Nabin Odisha Magic Card’ as a new initiative. The purpose of Nabin Card is to create employment opportunities and showcase their skill capacity and educational qualification.
What is Nabin Card?
Nabin Card for students is such a card which shows the achievements of the holder in various fields, whether it is the achievement of the student in any sport or contribution made to a community or society, the achievement of the student in all these fields will be displayed on this card, so that the students will get importance and facilities according to their ability and discipline.
The new Odisha Magic Card will keep getting upgraded as per the achievement
Nabin Card will be a points based card which will keep getting upgraded as per the achievement of the students in creativity, participation in social community activities, academic merit etc., which will also be upgraded to Silver, Gold and Platinum levels.
What will be the benefit of Nabin Odisha Magic Card?
The aim of the new Odisha Magic Card is to provide a platform for students and various companies where companies can select students for jobs based on their skills and qualifications as per their requirement and it will also be a LinkedIn like platform for students where they will get the opportunity to get employment quickly without wasting much time.
In the context of Nabin Magic Card, its benefits have been mentioned in the press release issued by the Odisha State Government, you can understand these benefits as follows-
- Discount will be provided in the cards made for travelling through bus or train.
- Discounts will also be provided on mobile recharge or purchase of phones and Wi-Fi or electronic library as well as online educational courses.
- Discount will also be provided to students in various personality development courses or workshops being held and in coaching centres and tuition classes being opened in the state.
- In the skill development courses or career counseling and learning different languages including Odia or English as well as earning money and joining self help groups, discounts will be given to the students in all these areas as per the upgradation of their Nabin Magic Card.
- If the student belongs to India then in such case concessions will be given to the student in terms of getting access to the stadiums during the tournaments and in getting access to national and international tournaments as well as getting access to various magazines or seminars or getting access to tourist places or museums.
- Not only in the appropriate field, but if the students later invest in a startup or want to get a loan under any government scheme, then according to the upgradation of the Nabin Card of the students, they will be given priority and loan at lower interest.

How to apply for Nabin Odisha Magic Card?
Applications were started by the state government under the Magic Card Odisha scheme from March 5, 2024, which were accepted till April 2024.
Under this, lakhs of students registered themselves. After this, Nabin Cards were distributed to all the beneficiaries on 15 August 2024.
