Introduction to PM Kisan Samman Nidhi

In any country, farmers play a huge role in the growth of the country. With the objective of providing economic strength to the farmers, the Government of India launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, under which an amount of ₹6000 per year is being given to the farmers in three equal installments of ₹2000 each year.

Initially, only small and marginal farmers were included under this scheme, but later all the farmers of India were included under this scheme.

Historical Background of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana

In the year 2018, the Telangana government started the Ryuthu Bandhu scheme, in which the farmers there were given a fixed amount twice a year. This scheme became very famous, then inspired by this scheme, the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was launched by the central government.

Eligibility for PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana

• Aadhar card.
• Must be Indian.
• All the farmers who have agricultural land will be eligible to apply.

Farmers ineligible for PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana

1. Not all institutional landholders will be able to avail the benefit of this scheme.
2. Farmer families who belong to one or more of the following categories will all be ineligible for this scheme-
   • Former and present holders of constitutional posts.
   • Former and present Ministers/Ministers of State and former/present Members of Lok Sabha/Rajya Sabha/State Legislative Assemblies/State Legislative Councils, former and present Mayors of Municipal Corporations, former and present Chairpersons of District Panchayats.
   • All serving or retired officers and employees of the Ministries/Offices/Departments of the Central/State Government and its field units, Central or State Public Sector Enterprises and attached offices/autonomous bodies under the Government and regular employees of local bodies (excluding Multi Tasking Staff/Class IV/Group D employees)
   • All retirement/retirement pensioners of the above category, whose monthly pension is ₹10000 or more. (Except Multi Tasking Staff/Class IV/Group D employees)
   • All those individuals who have paid income tax in the previous assessment year.
   • Professionals like doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants and architects are registered with professional bodies and earn their living by practising.

Note 1: To avail the benefits of this scheme, it will be mandatory for the beneficiary farmers to get E-KYC done.

Note 2: The States and Union Territories which will be responsible for selection of eligible beneficiaries will also ensure that no ineligible family is selected and no individual/family gets the benefit more than once.

How to apply for PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana?

To apply under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, you can apply in the following ways-

1. You can apply yourself from your mobile. The method of applying yourself is given below.

2. If you want, you can also apply by giving all your information to your regional land supervisor officer like Patwari or Lekhpal.

3. You can apply by going to the Common Service Centre and submitting the required documents, but for this you will have to pay the fee prescribed by the Common Service Centre.

Step 1: To apply under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, you must first visit the official website of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. To visit the official website, click – pm kisan.gov.in

Step 2: After this, you will have to select the option of ‘New Farmer Registration’ on the home website.

Step 3: After this, a new page will open in front of you in which you will have to do the verification by entering the Aadhaar number and mobile number.

Step 4: Along with this, you will have to fill some remaining details like date of birth, gender, address, bank account details and land ownership information. After this the form will be completed and you will get the receipt of the receipt and you will have to keep it safe for future.

How to check for PM Kisan Status 2024?

Step 1: First of all go to the official website of PM Kisan, click to go– pm kisan.gov.in

Step 2: Go to the Farmers Corner option and click on ‘Your Status’ option,

Step 3: Then select the option of ‘Aadhaar Number’ and click on ‘Get Mobile OTP’,

Step 4: Then enter the OTP received on your mobile number,

Step 5: After verification of OTP you will receive your registration number,

Step 6: Then go to the new page and enter your registration number and captcha code,

How to complete PM Kisan Ekyc?

Step 1: First of all go to the official website of PM Kisan.

Step 2: Go to the Kisan Corner option and click on the ‘E-KYC’ option,

Step 3: Then select the option of ‘Aadhaar Number’ and enter the OTP received on the mobile number linked with your Aadhaar card,

Step 4: Your ‘PM Kisan Ekyc’ will be completed once you enter the OTP.
