Introduction to Subhadra Yojana Odisha
Union Cabinet Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Subhadra Yojana in Odisha. This scheme will be for women aged 21 to 60 years, under which women will be given ₹10,000 per year for 5 years. This scheme will be applicable for the next 5 years, i.e. about ₹50,000 will be given to eligible women.
Talking about this scheme to promote women empowerment in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said that a budget of Rs 55,825 crore has been released for this scheme from 2024-25 to 2028-29.
When will we get money under Subhadra Yojana?
According to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, ₹10,000 will be given every year, this money will be given in two installments every year, in which ₹5,000 will be paid on Rakhi Purnima and ₹5,000 on International Women’s Day. In this way, the eligible woman will be provided financial assistance of ₹10,000 in 1 year and ₹50,000 in the next 5 years.

- As we know, during the recent Lok Sabha elections, assembly elections were also held in four states, Odisha was one of these states. In Odisha, the Bharatiya Janata Party had announced to start such a scheme as an election promise; which would provide financial assistance to women and contribute to their empowerment.
- It is noteworthy that the Subhadra Yojana is being seen as the fulfillment of this election promise of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Recently, Union Cabinet Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also announced that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will visit Odisha in September 2024 and during this time he will launch the Subhadra Yojana on his birthday on 17 September 2024.
Subhadra Yojana Debit Card
Under Subhadra Yojana, women will get money through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in their bank account which will be linked to Aadhar card. Subhadra debit cards will also be issued to the beneficiary women. Apart from this, 100 women from each Gram Panchayat or urban body who will do the maximum digital transactions will also be given ₹ 500 as an additional incentive.
Subhadra Yojana Odisha Eligibility Criteria
- The woman must be a native of Odisha state.
- Only married women will be eligible to get benefits under this scheme.
- Only one woman from a family will be able to avail the benefit.
- Under the Subhadra Scheme, economically weaker women will be given benefits.
- Women who belong to financially well off families will not be eligible to get benefits under the Subhadra Scheme.
- Women who are government employees or taxpayers, or belong to such a family will not be able to avail the benefits under this scheme.
- Women who are receiving assistance of ₹1500 per month or ₹18,000 or more per year under any other government scheme cannot avail the benefits of this scheme.

- Women who want to avail the benefits under Subhadra Yojana can get the form free of cost from Anganwadi Centres, Jan Seva Kendras, Block Offices or Mobile Seva Kendras to apply .
- The official website has not been opened yet to apply. Once the official website opens, you will be able to apply online by going directly to the website.
- Apart from this, the state government will form a ‘Subhadra Society’ to monitor the scheme and to redress the grievances of any applicant who is eligible under it but has not yet received the benefits.
